| Press Release | WARF Secretariat

The West Africa Oil and Gas Regulators Forum (WARF) has been formally established as a regional coordination platform for national oil and gas regulatory authorities in West Africa.
WARF provides a structured mechanism for regulators to collaborate on issues of common concern, including regulatory coherence, market transparency, and cross-border energy trade.
The Forum operates as a confidential peer platform, enabling regulators to exchange expertise, align standards, and address systemic market challenges while preserving regulatory independence.
Membership of WARF is restricted exclusively to legally constituted national oil and gas regulatory authorities, reflecting the Forum's mandate to function as a professional regulatory institution rather than a representative or advocacy body.
WARF will engage external stakeholders through clearly defined and ring-fenced engagement channels, while regulatory deliberations and decision-making remain reserved for member regulators.
Further information on WARF's mandate and institutional framework will be communicated through official channels as appropriate.
